Girls! Girls? Girls. A one woman play

Girls! Girls? Girls. is a one woman satirical play written and performed by Marjuan Canady that examines the black woman under the lense of public opinion: past, present and the humorous yet frightening future.In Girls! Girls? Girls!, Marjuan Canady transforms herself into ten diverse characters, capturing the voices and concerns of black women worldwide. Her characters range from the “booty” fashion mogul Sara Baartman, Black Women News anchor Beverly Brushetta and the hottest rapper in the game, 40 Ounce. Vivian Deangelo, Associate Director of IATI Theatre in New York City calls the show, “A very entertaining, upredictable and smart show”. Girls! Girls? Girls. has filled many theatrical seats at The United Solo Festival (Off-Broadway), The One Festival (Teatro Latea), The Performing Arts Marathon Festival (IATI Theatre), The Love Us Festival (Philadelphia, PA). In 2011, Sepia Works produced a college and community tour, The Girl TalkTour, including both performance and an educational workshop. In November 2011 the show will appear alongside sixty performers in New Orleans, Louisiana at The New Orleans Fringe Festival. Girls! Girls? Girls. has performed at over fifty colleges, high schools and community organizations.
