“Love, Lucy: A Tribute to Lucille Ball” Premiere

On December 27, 2011 Marjuan Canady shared the stage with DC performers, Candace Coles, Rayshun Lamarr and Maimouna Youseff at the famous jazz lounge, Bohemian Caverns. The night featured performances from Marjuan Canady’s one woman play “Girls! Girls? Girls.”, Candace Coles EP “Fingerprints”, Maimouna Youssef’s “The Blooming” and covered classics such as The Jackson 5′s “I’ll be There” and contemporaries like Trey Songz “Can’t Be Friends”.

Marjuan Canady premiered an excerpt from her new piece, “Love, Lucy: A Tribute to Lucille Ball”. The Cavernous space was full of laughs and smiles as Canady recreated the famous “Vitameatavegamin” scene from America’s first sitcom “I Love Lucy”. Canady is currently working on this piece as a film, photography and theater concept.
